I often hear people say that reducing plastic waste is "too hard" or it doesn't fit into "their lifestyle.” As an environmental educator, I feel that it is my responsibility to work with my students to break down the boundaries that make it challenging for them to make environmentally-minded decisions.

Cephalopods Ink-orporated is a natural extension of my work, providing water-resistant, reusable, and handmade bags and single-use plastic alternatives that I create in my living room (Mount Pleasant neighbourhood in Vancouver).

My community is a huge part of what makes this business run. They give me moral support, spend hours cutting fabric (I trade them brunch as a thank you), take product photos, and are endless advocates for Cephalopods Ink-orporated products.

As a small business owner and Vancouverite, I prefer to support other small-scale local businesses as much as possible. I do my best to source my materials in-person so I can connect with the business owner and/or staff, as well as ensure the quality of the materials. My primary purpose is not to make money; rather, it is important to me to have personal conversations that inspire people to realize that sustainability is accessible.

A portion of the funds from Cephalopods Ink-orporated goes towards furthering the mission of other local, community and environmentally-minded organizations.
