I mark patterns out with chalk before cutting.
All pieces are cut out either with a heavy duty scissors or rotary cutter.
Here is a bag half way assembled.
Snaps are hammered in and zippers are stitched on.
All stitches are done by hand, first a hole is pierced with an awl, and then are threaded through using a needle.

Hand Stitched with Love

I started working with leather when I was 10 years old. My first project was a pair of soft sole center seam moccasins. I wore them until they had holes in the soles. They were the most wonderful outdoor shoes I had ever had. I made another pair exactly the same and wore these to shreds as well.

I got back into leather working about 6 years ago. Leather is a wonderful, natural material that ages well, providing the quality of leather is good. I only use high quality full grain or top grain leather for my projects. This makes my products thick and strong.

I like to think that the hand stitching makes my pieces stand out from something ordinary and factory manufactured. I use a synthetic sinew and every hole is hand punched with an awl and stitched together with my own hands. As a result, each item is a bit unique, and was thoughtfully created. I don't strive for perfect stitching. Instead, I try to bring out the character of the leather with each piece.
