Ordering from Amanda of CeruleanLife was a pleasure. She happily customized my order and whenever I asked her a question she got back to me within 5 minutes! She also made a special effort to make sure I received my package by a certain date. Even tho the necklace is for a friend, I opened the package to check out the quality of the piece and I must say that I was very pleased! I know my friend will love it! Thanks, Amanda!

About

Everyone Needs a Hobby

I have a very distinct aesthetic for my own personal style - I'm also a control freak. So I would see items in stores that I *almost* loved, but...
I started tweaking the things I bought and then realized I could just make my own. Once I started I realized I had so much I began to give it away to friends and family (they got a lot of positive feedback when they would wear it) -- and through their nagging persistence I decided to open this Etsy store to "give it a go."

Welcome to CeruleanLife! I'm an accessory junkie and I love pieces that can be easily mixed with other accessories/jewelry, but can also stand alone on their own. I think my finished pieces most often have a Boho feel -- very free spirited and light -- and is an excellent reflection of my current state of mind. Betcha can't guess what my favorite color is -- you'll see a lot of that incorporated, too!
From Wikipedia: Cerulean, also spelled caerulean, is a color term that may be applied to a wide range of colors from deep blue, sky-blue, bright blue or azure colors through blueish green colors.
Even before I could say the word blue I showed it distinct favoritism (it drove my mom crazy, I even refused to wear pink as a toddler) and that has never changed for me -- the favoritism towards blue that is, I occasionally wear pink ;)
My birthstone is Turquoise, my favorite crayon color is blue-green and I tend to buy a lot of blue clothes (love classic navy!) -- I'm drawn to shades of blue when I decorate and craft things and obviously I'm easily drawn to beads in shades of blue. My shop name is a perfect embodiment, Cerulean Life.
Hope you find something you like, thanks for looking!

Important information on materials used:

*I only buy materials that are sold as lead and nickel free!*

I choose to work with plated metal because it's a less expensive alternative to metals like Sterling Silver -- not every piece of jewelry you own needs to be an expensive one! I can create and sell pieces at a much lower rate -- I know there are few items in my very extensive jewelry stash that I keep/wear for very prolonged periods of time. Most of the items I buy might keep a steady rotation for a couple of years and then are forgotten for new pieces. If you choose/buy/wear with a similar mindset, plated metal is a smarter alternative where value is concerned! The only downside to plated metal if you don't wear it often enough it can sometimes begin to show signs of tarnish -- here's some helpful info:

The Best Way to Clean Silverplate
By ShawnTe Pierce, eHow Contributor

Silverplated items have all of the style and elegance of their sterling silver counterparts but at a cheaper price. These items are found in antiques, silverware, jewelry and cookware such as tea sets. However, silverplate items still need cleaning and polishing the same as genuine silver articles do. Sometimes more care needs to be taken with silverplated articles because if the layer of the plating erodes you are left with the less stunning metal that lies beneath. Find out the best way to clean silverplate to make the silver coating last.

Simple Cleaning Method
Cleaning silverplate can be simple and cheap. Just rinse off the silverplated items in warm, soapy water to remove dirt and debris. If your item has engraving or deep etchings on it, a soft bristle toothbrush can be used to loosen dirt within the crevices. Hand dry each item with a soft cloth such as terry cloth is best.

Removing Tarnish
Cleaning silverplated items does not remove tarnish from them. Tarnish is removed via polishing each item. A silver polish or silver cream will bring the shine back to your silverplated articles. Apply polish with a clean dampened cloth and polish by working the cloth in small circular motions all over each silverplate item. Once the polish has removed all the tarnish from each item, rinse them in warm water to remove excess silver cream/polish. Finally, dry each silverplated item with a soft cloth.

Maintenance
The best way to keep the shine on silverplated items is to use them. Frequent handling provides light polishing to silverplated items. Washing in warm water with a mild soap or detergent is best. One rule of thumb is to never wash silverplated items in the dishwasher as scratching of the silverplate and sometimes erosion of the silverplate may occur.

Some of the leather I use is man-made leather. Just like using plated chain, using man-made leather ensures me the ability to offer lowered prices.
If you'd like the specifics on a certain listing you may contact me.
If you like the design of one of my listings but would like it in natural leather, the cost of the item will go up to compensate for the material cost. Contact me before purchasing to ensure I can acquire the materials and in a timely fashion.

I hope this information is helpful! I only put items in my shop I believe to be of quality, I would never intentionally buy or sell an inferior product.

If you would like to use a money order please contact me. You may make your purchase as long as you understand that the item(s) will not be sent until the money order has been received. Once received, your item(s) will ship within 24 hours (please observe weekends and holidays!).
Required information will be sent once I've received your order with notification that you'd like to send a money order.

Please see under "Refund Policy" regarding information on cancelling an order.
Shipping
Items will be shipped within 2 business days of cleared payment. A business day is defined by a non-holiday weekday (i.e., Mon-Fri).
This is just a time frame guarantee. Generally items will be shipped within 24 hours of order as long as payment has been received.

All items will be shipped First Class mail (2-5 business days for US per USPS description). I cannot guarantee this shipping timeframe as I am not a postal worker. However, items will be shipped ASAP and as First Class unless you request otherwise. Please see below for shipping upgrades/insurance purchasing.
All items will ship with an automatic tracking number which will be emailed to you when the shipping label is purchased.

Items being shipped outside of the US will also be mailed First Class, International. Etsy automatically marks these items as "other" on the claims form and declares the amount -- I have no control over this.
I am not responsible for any customs duties, taxes, or fees. That responsibility lies solely with the purchaser. Please check your countries rules before purchasing.
I am not claiming responsibility for any individual who did not or cannot read this disclaimer.
I cannot give a delivery timeframe on these items. Please keep in mind international mailing timeframes before purchasing.

I can ship items insured for an additional cost to you. Please request this before placing your order so I can update the shipping cost. Insurance up to $100 is $1.50.
Please note, I am not responsible for items damaged during shipment.

Should you need Express Delivery/Rushed shipment, please contact me. All shipping upgrades above First Class Shipping will be at purchaser's expense.

Please contact me prior to purchasing to upgrade your shipping option -- if you do not do so, you will incur the shipping fee plus an additional $.20 listing fee for your upgraded purchase, plus an additional 3% fee (of total shipping cost) for Etsy.

Please contact me if you have further inquiries about shipping.
Refunds and Exchanges
Please contact me with a request to cancel/refund your order ASAP.

Being a quick shipper becomes a double-edged sword. Great for those who want their stuff fast, bad for the indecisive. Orders placed early in the day have a high percentage of being shipped that day. I encourage you to be confident in your order decision!

Once an item has shipped, there is no refund.
Please contact me concerning extenuating circumstances.

If the item has not yet shipped you may still receive a refund less the amount of a 30% restocking fee. (All shipping costs will be refunded. The 30% will apply to the item(s) list price(s) only.)

Please contact me if there is an issue -- whatever it may be. I'm a very reasonable person and I'm trying to establish myself as a reputable shop owner. I would appreciate the chance to resolve any issues before a third party or negative feedback becomes involved!
Additional policies and FAQs
Unless stated otherwise, there is generally 1 of each item listed, but doesn't necessarily mean I do not have the materials to make another. If you have seen something that no longer appears to be listed, contact me, I may be able to duplicate the item for you.

If you want the same something for a group of people -- large or small -- I may have the materials to accommodate you.

If you see something you like, but had something else slightly different in mind (i.e., color, length, charm), contact me (mandas_jewelry@yahoo.com or via Etsy Convo), and the item may be able to be custom made.

I generally buy the materials I use to hand make my jewelry wholesale from all over (US to Hong Kong to Australia). I do not keep a specific record of which materials
come from where.

I will never purposely misrepresent any materials -- therefore, if I describe a bead as genuine turquoise it is because it was sold to me as that material and I am passing on the description. Most of my beads were bought *authentic* from wholesalers (many in Australia). If they are not, they will be listed as such, i.e, faux pearl.

As I mentioned above, I am trying to establish myself as reputable shop owner -- please take the time to leave me positive feedback! If you feel like you cannot leave me positive feedback, please contact me for a resolution!
