About

Pliers and Jump Rings and Scales, Oh My!

It was 2015. I was trying to come up with an epic finishing touch to a Dragon Rider costume I was developing for my frequent visits to the PA Renaissance Faire, and I came up with the brilliant idea of building scalemaille armor. It would be epic, eye-catching, and fun to create! How hard could it be?

After a couple of late nights foraging the internet, and asking the Faire's local shop where they get their supplies, I decided this was something I would take on. This was officially my first experience with chainmaille, and I knew I had chosen a project that would be a real challenge. I didn't use any tutorials for my design except how to build the European 4 in 1 weave and the basic sheet of scalemaille; I determined the pattern and dimensions as I went and let my creative juices flow. After 27 contemplative, slightly frustrating, and at times painful hours of hard work, my masterpiece was finally finished and my love for chainmaille was born!

Since then, I have dabbled in a few pieces of jewelry and a couple of hand bags as a hobby. But it wasn't until my husband and I moved from New Jersey to Oklahoma in February 2017 that I decided I could make my dream of one day having a jewelry business a reality. We are now back in New Jersey, where I have started to vend at craft shows and festivals, and it's very exciting!

I take my time designing each piece I build, and strive to make unique yet wearable jewelry that my customers (and I) can be proud to show off. I truly love what I do, and my hope is that my passion comes across in my work.

Frequently asked questions

Can I wear my new piece of jewelry in the pool or shower?

I do not recommend this for any of my pieces. Prolonged submersion in water, and especially exposure to chlorine, will cause my materials like solid jeweler's brass or bronze to corrode and leather to dry out and crack. The overall integrity and durability of my pieces will be compromised, so please enjoy wearing them for years to come on dry land.

You can wash your hands or be out in the rain while wearing my jewelry.
