I bought for my husband's Christmas gift, and he absolutely loved it! The mesh is finely made, and the leather strings and beads really complete it. It also arrived very quickly, despite being so close to Christmas. Thank you!

About

More Chainmaille Love

I began making chainmaille in March 2011. I have always loved the chainmaille I see when I go to the Bristol Renaissance Faire each summer, and while wandering through my local craft store, I discovered a pamphlet on how to make chainmaille jewelry. I picked it up and thought, "I could do this!"

Ratchman Mailleworks, (formerly Chainmaille Designs by Joy Grimes) began when I showed some of my creations to a friend, Mary. Mary owns a small stationery boutique and chocolate shop in Stevens Point, WI. She offered to sell my jewelry in her store, and I quickly agreed.

My first dice bag was based on my first D&D character, Carrie. When my friends and classmates saw me working on it (I really DO make chainmaille everywhere - before class, at craft nights, at parties, while roleplaying...) they began to request dice bags of their own. I especially love making custom dice bags based on peoples' characters.

I joined Etsy in August 2012 to offer my chainmaille creations to friends, acquaintances, and maille-lovers nationwide.

People tell me that chainmaille looks complicated and that I must have a lot of patience, but to me, chainmaille is like knitting or crocheting - it's very soothing to find a pattern and follow it until a piece is done.
