Christi and Tammy are sisters who come by their sewing skills honestly. Our mom was a world-class quilter, and she taught us well. We are still working our way through her fabric stash! Welcome to our shop where we play with fiber. We have discovered that we love to play with colors and designs, and to come up with our own patterns to make useful and beautiful items, especially bags of all sizes. Everything here is handmade, functional, and one-of-a-kind.
Christi is an artist and scientific illustrator in real life, and has always wanted to mess about with wearables. She creates her work in her sunny studio in upstate NY, while fending off the curious studio cat. This sewing and fiber venture is a fun new side hustle. You might find some of her silkscreen experiments here as well. You can find her line of paper ephemera and artwork at christisobel.etsy.com.
Tammy is an educator turned homeschool mom. Now that the kids are older, she has more time to turn to a favorite activity: sewing. She loves to add embroidery to her creations, hopefully adding some pretty and fun to something functional and useful. She lives on the opposite coast, in Oregon.

5 out of 5 starsI immediately took it out for a spin, returning a handful of library books on a walk downtown. I love the size and the fit: it tucks right under your arm, right against your side. And the color combinations are gorgeous. Such a great way to dress up ordinary outings!

Discovering that sewing is a superpower
Having a shop together came out of the COVID pandemic, a silver lining to an otherwise stressful time. Christi (that's me, writing) had time at home during the lockdown to learn some new things. After making great strides towards mastering sourdough, I made a few masks. My husband showed me how to use the sewing machine (we have my mom's machine) and this crazy muscle memory came back on how to use the machine. It feels like my new superpower, to be able to make whatever my mind can come up with. Tammy had always been a seamstress and experimenter with fabric, and has gifted many gorgeous bags to the whole family.
The time is right to collaborate together to bring our bag designs to you. We are also proud to be carrying on our quilter mother's legacy of creative expression through fabric, with a high standard of perfection and quality in the details.
