About CharmingBead

Sales 31
On Etsy since 2012

From playing with Grandma's coffee can full of buttons, to becoming a true bead-a-holique, I absolutely enjoy making jewelry pieces come to life.

I started Charming Bead back in 2002 shortly after visiting a local blown glass store in LaVerne, California. A friend and I went to this store on our lunch hour because she knew of a beading area in the back, where people could make jewelry. It was on that very lunch hour that I began my passion for beads and buttons and making jewelry.

I already loved buttons, because I used to go through my grandma's coffee can full of old buttons that she had collected over the years. When our family would visit, while the adults were chatting at the kitchen table, I would grab that coffee can full of old buttons and dump them out onto the carpet to organize them by size and color and shape, until each button had a pile. I would, then, put them all back in the can and save them for another visit. [Incidentally, "Buttoned Up" is a new earring line I’m creating.] Make sure to provide me your email if you'd like to receive ongoing information about anything that's new with Charming Bead.

So it’s no surprise that when my friend and I started to select beads for our respective bracelets, during our lunch hour, I couldn't seem to contain myself. I kept discovering really unique and colorful beads, until my first string of beads was over a foot long! Much too long for a bracelet, wouldn't you say?

At home that very same day, I collected all of my own jewelry and started weeding through everything until I identified bracelets and necklaces that I didn't really wear anymore. I took then all apart and arranged all of the components to see what I had, then ended up making 4 new bracelets that I still wear today. I guess it's a humble reminder of where I began and where the bead-aholic in me was born!

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalized orders

Yes, I do custom orders. Please email me at charmingbeadkd@gmail.com to make your request. There will be a deposit of 50% required once we've determined a clear path for me to go with your vision.

Sizing details

As you may know, most female bracelets are 7.5 inches. This means 7 inches flush against the wrist and 8 inches for chunkier beaded pieces. So please know that each of my bracelets (unless specifying for child) will measure a bit larger than a plain chain bracelet. Each of my bracelets will hang with some room to showcase all angles, while rotating on your wrist. However, if you need a lot smaller or larger, please don't hesitate to email me your special request upon order. There is space in the order for emailing me a direct message.

Care instructions

It is always recommended, for safe-keeping, that you keep your bracelet in the drawstring bag I provide. Also, most of my selections have either a clasp or toggle closure and should not be taken on/off like a stretchy bracelet.

Gift wrapping and packaging

Each order comes with a drawstring bag and may come in a box if you desire. I wrap each piece in bubble wrap and special tissue paper for a cleaner presentation...sealed with a Charming Bead sticker. If you desire a more elaborate gift wrapping option, please don't hesitate to email me directly.

Returns and Exchanges

While I do not do money-back returns, I am more than happy to have you exchange your purchase for something else in my shop. Sometimes, it's just not what you thought it would be based upon a picture, so please email me directly.

To exchange a purchase, you will need to contact me via email (charmingbeadkd@gmail.com) within 14 days of your delivery date. Shipping back the purchase is required within 30 days of your delivery date, at your expense.
