About

Nature and love are two of my favorite muses. Our world offers me a never ending pallet of inspiration

Hi ! My name is Cara. I am the artist and designer at www.TheFloweringEarth.com also known as CherokeeDreams on www.Etsy.com. A love of jewelry has led me along a path of discovery. I stumbled upon a desire to work with metal and create unique pieces representing the many joys in my own life and suddenly found myself branching out into other areas of design. I find it both interesting and fulfilling that the very same things that inspire me to sketch, write a poem or song, play guitar or piano, also inspire me to create jewelry, wraps, sweaters, handbags and more. The way the water flows onto the beach or the color of the ocean will inspire a curve or a transition of tone. Stones and organic objects from the earth are healing to both our body and soul. Nature and love are two of my favorite muses and our world offers me a never ending pallet of inspiration.

My Etsy shop - The Flowering Earth - was named by my father. CherokeeDreams (My Shop ID) recognizes the piece of me that is connected to my Native American roots. I started my shop as place to display all of my creations. I cannot keep them all and thought it would be fun to share them with others. All of the creations here at The Flowering Earth were created by my hands. I do not work from patterns - I let the medium I am working in lead me. Most of the items are one of a kind. My sales here support my creations. My crochet hooks are in constant motion which requires frequent trips to the yarn store! Your purchase allows me to keep designing new pieces to add to my shop. It is a labor of love. If you see something that you like, grab it. I may repeat a sweater style, but no two pieces will be exactly alike. I'm a freestyle crocheter! Thank you for stopping by!
