I love making things. I love the focus, the preoccupation and the process.

Everything I create is hand-crafted in my home studio in Northern California where I am surrounded by redwood trees, nature and wildlife, all of which have influenced me in designing simple, elegant pieces that reflect the quiet, calm beauty of the natural world.

I find inspiration in making pieces that people use and enjoy in their daily lives. I was impacted years ago by a comment made in a workshop I attended: "Always look for the extraordinary in the ordinary." I believe that the ordinary things we surround ourselves with - the pieces we use and the things we look at day after day should add beauty to our environment and make us happy when using them. Whether making a platter, a lamp or a garden sculpture, my goal is to contribute beauty, simplicity and a sense of harmony through my work.
