Original textile collages made with hand dyed cottons, batik and vintage fabrics

Thank you for stopping by. My name is Cheryl, I'm inspired by nature, vintage books and textiles, my garden and music. My work is always evolving. I was a painter and a quilter for many years before I began experimenting with fabric collage. There are so many colors, textures, patterns and types of fabric to work with that allow me to achieve a texture I can't get with paint and fabric collage has become the primary focus of my work. I guess I've evolved to "painting" with fabric and thread. I studied art history and studio art in college - this has a huge influence on my work ...

I live in New England and find the landscape here infinitely inspiring - marshes, bright shining skies and snowy fields often find their way into my pieces. Other common themes in my work are music, bits of anything French, birds, and my garden.

I'm a juried member of The League of New Hampshire Craftsmen for fiber art. I exhibit my work in New England galleries and fine art and craft fairs.

You can sign up for my twice a month or so newsletter on www.cherylzmillerart.com.

With Gratitude,
Cheryl
