Exploring visual fun with digital woodcuts.

Chet Phillips presents his slightly off-center view of the world through his digital woodcut styled illustrations. For 30+ years his work has been showcased by advertising agencies, design firms, corporations, book publishers, magazines and movie studios. His work can also be found in galleries in L.A. New York and Austin. The bright and colorful woodcut style digital imagery takes the form of a variety of paper goods including signed archival prints, playing card and postcard sets, stickers and more. Sometimes Chet collaborates with his highly talented bookbinding wife Julie to create boxes and binding structures for his visual projects.

Artist statement:
"I move between creating interpretive, dream-like worlds of mystery and a lighter side, cartoon illustration version. In both cases I would generally label my work somewhere between a form of pop surrealism and low brow art."

Welcome to my slightly off-center interpretation of the world. I've been illustrating, first with traditional tools and now digitally, combined for more than 25 years. I enjoy presenting both the humor and mystery in everyday things. My hope is that you'll find something in my efforts that you can connect with and enjoy.

Over the years I've had the honor of working for a variety of high profile companies and projects, including publishing companies, corporations, advertising agencies and movie studios. To learn more about my illustration business, please visit my web page: www.chetart.com
