I was pregnant with my second daughter when I won a simple silicone pendant necklace at a party. To my delight it was a huge hit with baby! Being the crazy DIY artsy gal I am I was compelled to improve on the plain design. I went searching for silicone beads and finally found a random string of beads and decided to disassemble a beaded teething ring toy. My colorful creation was not only a favorite toy but looked amazing and was a real conversation piece. I had to make more! I had to share with all my friends! That’s you, and YOU moms are amazing! I'm devoted to supporting parenthood in every way I can. I know how beyond hard it is being on-call mommy 24/7! Anything to relieve some stress and meet some needs is my goal.

What motivates me? I know what it’s like friends. I'm the crazy, creative mother of three little girls. I've overcome many nursing challenges and succeeded in tandem and extended breastfeeding. I’ve experienced the sweet bliss of nursing a darling little angle one minute and next, WHACK! Being slapped, pinched, hair pulled, and bra snapped (my favorite)! What a struggle it is to keep baby focused and latched… especially in public! Am I right?! Not to mention the teething pain... The fussiness and crying seems to go on for months! I've also had the joy of navigating dietary choices with three colicky babies with dairy intolerance. Taking care of a baby is hard work! I'm not sure if you’re tired too? I was so exhausted I told my husband I needed a prescription for a coma so I could get some sleep! Hahaha... Desperate times folks!

It’s no wonder that women faced with an unplanned pregnancy are afraid of this unbelievably demanding role of parenthood and often consider abortion. I experienced a miscarriage at 11 weeks and my perspective of the value of human life cemented firmly in my soul. Don’t tune me out here… I held our dead baby… the size of a tablespoon… with fully formed fingers and toes… a powerfully transforming experience. I am now passionate about life and helping mothers choose life. Every person is created equal and deserves the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

I’ve started CHEWSYOU so I can work from home where my primary focus is nurturing, teaching, and shepherding my children. My hearts’ desire is to use my creative ability for a worthwhile purpose. I hand make my designs with the imagination and inspiration God has given me. Ephesians 4:28 (ESV) says, “Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need.”

The idea for the name CHEWSYOU came from a message that stirred my heart deeply. I learned that God wants a relationship with me because I am His child. Hesed is the term used to describe God’s loving kindness—the consistent, ever-faithful, relentless, constantly pursuing, lavish, extravagant, devoted, unrestrained, one-way love of God. Friends, this is the love YOU have for your baby. The love the Father has for YOU! Powerful love beyond all measure. It’s because of God's great love for me that He chose me and pursued me when I was lost. I now choose Him, choose love, and choose life. Today is the day of salvation. Choose today whom you will serve.

Sizing details

Adult necklaces have about a 18-20in drop length which will come down to the "V" where your ribs meet in the center of your chest. The can easily be adjusted by tieing knots on each side of the cord to shorten. However, longer necklaces are usually more desirable for baby to freely enjoy!

Youth Sensory necklaces are shorter around 12-14in but still long enough for kids to easily put in their mouth and play with.

If you prefer an extra length just let us know!

Care instructions

Silicone is easily washable with mild soap and water. Blot with a dry towel and hang to finish drying. We don't recommend using the dishwasher because the clasp may not withstand your hot temp boost!

Gift wrapping and packaging

Each necklace is handmade and checked for any imperfections before being wrapped in white tissue paper and place inside a hand stamped satin re-usable gift bag. We ship in a 5x7 bubble mailer with your packing slip and add additional insurance.

There is NO minimum quantity per item/style. Add all the items you like to your cart, whether it's one of each or several of each. Once you order reaches a minimum total of $100 (before shipping) you can go ahead and use one of our Wholesale Coupon Codes upon checkout:

Why don't the beads go all the way around?

Two good reasons:

1. Weight. Silicone beads can be heavy... we have our arms full with baby, diaper bag, and 500 other mom necessities! We don't need a heavy necklace too.

2. Hair. The silicone material tends to pull the tiny hairs on the back of our necks... talk about irritating!

What Does Sensory Mean?

The texture of silicone beads can be satisfying and helpful for sensory processing disorders (SPD), autism, ADHD and other special needs. Chew necklaces can help keep kids from destroying costly toys and clothes through inappropriate chewing and biting. Also helps kids focus and stay on task!

How can this help my child break a bad habit?

Our daughter had developed a bad habit of nail biting so I made her a necklace and directed her to it whenever I saw her putting her fingers in her mouth. Sometimes I'd have to pause a show while she went to get her necklace. I also showed her google images of how awful nails look and hurt if she kept chewing them. So she understood it would end up very painful and yucky looking. That was about a year ago and she doesn't have any nail biting issues now, I'm happy to be frequently clipping her long nails! If your child has a habit of nail biting, nose picking, lip biting or similar issue silicone necklace can be a helpful tool. When you see your child starting their habit remind or require them to put on or use their necklace instead.
