4 out of 5 starsThe bracelet is nice, but the metal started to tarnish, maybe a month after purchase.

3 out of 5 starsThe necklace just looks a lot less finished/ high fashion in person. While I love the look and style of it, maybe try some more finished looking clasps? They unfortunately detract from the elegance of the rope and render this piece a little cheap looking.

5 out of 5 starsExceeded my expectations. Beautiful metal detail. It's also the perfect necklace for Pantone's 2016 color(s) of the year! Love it, thank you.

Different types of necklaces and bracelets.
Do it yourself when you can't effort a fashion accessory.
Some people might shake their heads when they read the headline of my story and I do understand that, because some things you can't do by yourself. Sometimes you need a special education for certain things, but not in my case.
I remember when I travelled to Oslo and visited the Henrik Vibskov Store. The saleswoman there showed me some nice jewelry I hadn't ever seen in my life. It was a double rope bracelet by Sabrina Dehoff. It was a really easy technique and a huge inspiration for ChezKristel.
Two weeks later I stepped into the Alsterhaus in Hamburg, which is a big store where you get nearly everything and bought different sizes and colors of cotton ropes.
It took me a long time to get this thing started, to be exact it took me two and a half years.
In the beginning I started with different kinds of jewelry, because I needed some time to find my style, doing some different necklaces and bracelets with leather ropes, chess pieces and rayon cord ropes. After a while I've recognized that cotton ropes, dying, leather and metal are the material I want to work with. Dying is a really cool thing, because you mostly don't get the colors you want. And because of the upcoming trend of dip dying I found a nice way of combining sailor knots and gradients.
