It's true....I am a real live elf. I'm under five feet and I make toys for a living. I've always had an affinity for children and animals. Going through years of infertility treatments before the adoption of our daughter, Novella, I decided I was going to make babies one way or another. My sock babies were inspired by my Grandma Johnson's kewpie and sock dolls. I love the twenties, dusty old things I can rescue, history, whimsy, vintage textiles, etc. My maternal Babi (Czech for grandma) did beautiful embroidery and crochet work. I have created custom pieces for thousands of little ones and I have loved every second. My pieces have been featured in Child Style Magazine and Canadian Living. Etsy has enabled me to reach people all across the globe and I have sent babies and lovies all over the world. Most recently, my daughter Savanna gave birth to a beautiful baby boy named Lux, making me a grandma. I live with my family in a hundred year old bungalow in Omaha, Nebraska, where I have a little workshop over the corkscrew willow trees in my yard. I am living my dream...being home with little Novi and creating something every day.
