About

chicks and peas alike will love these yarns

we are ting and stacey, two chicks who love yarn and all yarny things. our shop name arose from our favorite colors, yellow (stacey) and green (ting). yellow being the "chick" and green being the "pea," of course.

both of us are avid knitters, and one day, after the search for perfectly colored and affordable yarn proved fruitless, we decided to dye our own. we thought our results were pretty great, so now we'd like to share with you!

the yarn coloring process is a fun one for us, so we try to bring some of the fun to you with cute names and our little yarny backstories on each skein. we are currently only a small studio, so we mostly produce one-off colorways—each skein is totally unique and beautiful in its own way. just like you and me and everyone. c:

a bit of background on us—other than our yarny love. we met in architect school in 2009, on a "fun" mandatory school-wide scavenger hunt. we were both small and shy at the time and quickly latched onto each other and became fast friends. ting went on to get her bachelor's degree in architecture and her master's in sustainable design. stacey got her bachelor's in creative writing and now designs book covers for a living. we are both design people and our yarn adventures are just another expression of our "make-make"-iness.

thanks for wandering through our little shop! we hope you enjoy your stay and find something you love. please visit again soon! c:

we like yarn and we hope you do too! chickpea yarns is run by ting and stacey. we love colorful things and shiny things and of course, yarn. this is a enjoyable and relaxing venture for us, and we try to bring some of the fun to you with a little story on each skein.

a bit on our shop name: "chick" is from yellow, stacey's favorite color, and "pea" is from green, ting's favorite color. and chicks and peas are both cute, little, and round. and so are we!
