About

The Accidental Entrepreneur

While I've always enjoyed creating things, it was about 7 years ago when I discovered bookbinding. We were in need of some blank notebooks for a homeschool project with our boys and I couldn't find what we needed locally. I figured I'd try to make them and I was immediately hooked.

I spent several years teaching myself different binding techniques, finally falling in love with both coptic stitch and long stitch bindings. I have worked hard to be able to present a product that is not only beautiful but also functional and long lasting.

Features I wanted and needed in a journal are what you'll find in my books: quality materials, covers with a protective coating so you can wipe them clean (coptic stitch), leather that is hand cut and dyed (long stitch), multi media paper that can be used for artwork as well as writing, and books made with thought and care at a price everyone can afford.

Welcome! I hope you enjoy looking through my shop. All journals are handmade by me. I use a variety of quality materials in my process, including paper, leather, wood, and vintage books. Some journals are made from brand new materials while others include repurposed parts. Read item listing for type of materials. Each item is unique but depending on the availability of materials I may create a similar book.

All listings are already created items which are ready to ship to you.

I try to photograph and describe my items accurately so please read listing carefully before purchasing. My goal is for you to be 100% satisfied with your book. If for any reason a book does not meet your expectations, please contact me within 5 days of delivery so that I can make you happy. Returns will be accepted but I will only refund purchase price, after I receive the item in the same new and unused condition in which it left my home. Shipping costs remain the responsibility of the buyer.
Additional policies and FAQs
All items are created in our home which is smoke-free. We do have a small dog but she rarely visits me in my studio. I am chemically sensitive so you won't have to worry about fragrance odors.

While I am a perfectionist, please remember that these are handmade journals. I take great care to produce items that are finished excellently.
