About

I'm doing it my way...

Collecting gems and beads and making jewelry has been my personal indulgence--my "hobby" so to speak, for many years. It started out when I was little, following my dad along a creek bank in Iowa, picking up agates, sharks teeth and moonstones. My dad built a rock tumbler out of old used tires and we tumbled our treasures for weeks. What came out of that tumbler was amazing! For me, a life-long habit of collecting and creating was born. Well, like everyone else with a passion for creating things, I soon ran out of space in my jewelry box for the stuff I was making and family members to give them to, so I decided to offer my work for sale. As a professional graphic designer, my job has always been to please the client. BUT, I decided that designing jewelry was far more satisfying when I stopped trying to create for "the market trends" and just make things the way I liked them. I love every piece that I create and while many of them may be "variations on a them" no two are identical. Needless to say, I could never do line assembly work. Too boring. I have to learn something new each time I sit down to work--and I have to be inspired!
