About ChristinaJeanDesigns

On Etsy since 2019

I’m a Technical Fashion Designer, turned Mompreneur, combining my love for creating, sewing, fun fabrics and helping the planet, into a business!

I have been sewing, crafting and being creative since I was a little girl. If there was something I could sew or make myself, I would do it. Making and creating with my hands was then and will always be my favorite thing to do, my true passion! Being a Fashion Designer and owning my own store was my dream back when I was a little girl but along the way I got a bit side-tracked. You creatives know how it is. I earned a BA in French, lived in France for a year and then went back to Fashion Design school. I became a Technical Designer after working for multiple Designers and Fashion Brands trying to figure out what I really wanted to do.
After having my first baby I found myself not wanting to return to the corporate job scene so I started to craft and create again, learn new things, look for what inspired the new Mama me. I learned hand lettering, I sewed bags, (a favorite pastime and something I have actually sold before) I scrapbooked all of our trips and big moments, I re-started my sticker collection, (yes the one from the 80’s) I made cards for everyone for all occasions and I bought fabric that inspired me everywhere I went!
I wanted to do all the crafty things! I didn’t want to be tied down to just one thing so here I am designing one of a kind bags and flare like patches, pins and keychains (did I mention I collected keychains when I was younger?). This way I can keep creating NEW product and YOU can keep getting exclusive one of a kind items that NO ONE else will have.
Making the bags out of upcycled denim helps keep our planet cleaner and I wanted a brand that made me feel good inside and is eco-conscious. You won’t see any plastic bags holding your purchases either because I’m trying to keep my plastic consumption to a minimum. I will also be donating a percentage of my yearly earnings to a Save Our Oceans program because I believe in giving back and because I want to see less videos on Facebook showing our sea life dying because of our polluting.
For now I have it all figured but the future is bright and I love change so here is to being a Creative Girl, a Recycler, a Mama, a Wifey and everything in between! I hope you love my shop and reach out to me with anytime!
Big Ol’ Hugs!

Where do I get my denim?

Most of my bags are made from thrifted jeans or donations from friends and family since they know I use denim to make my bags and other things. I also buy what is called “dead stock” or “ends” from discount fabric stores or brands. This is fabric that was not used by another company and it for sale. Still a very sustainable and eco-friendly way to make my bags and other items.

Do you donate to a cause?

Well yes I do thanks for wondering! I have a major love for our oceans and sea life so I will be giving back to 4Oceans. More details to come and I will announce it as well on certain items!

Where do I buy my supplies?

I try to buy as much as I can right here on Etsy! I also get a lot of my fabrics from Spoonflower which is another place where I am supporting designers and their company also values eco-friendly ways as does Etsy so this aligns with my brands mission.

Do I really use no plastic?

Well I try my darndest! You won’t find it in my packaging and I try to consume it as less as possible in my business and personal life. It’s something we don’t need to use there are great alternatives.
