sharing the dream one piece at a time
I started my Etsy shop in 2009 as an extension of my studio which is open to the public on weekends. I'm a resident artist at Williams Mill Visual Arts Centre in Glen Williams, Ontario (www.williamsmill.com). It's a tiny village outside of Toronto that often attracts people from all over the world. After receiving regular inquiries from guests wishing to shop online, I decided I should get with the times!
The first year on Etsy was the toughest. I think I was a little culture shocked actually. It took me a little time to learn the ropes...and the lingo! LOL :)
When I joined the BNS Second Chance team on Etsy, everything turned around. I'm now an active member of several teams on Etsy and we support each other in our journeys every day. I have to thank Etsy as well, for providing an affordable, easy to navigate system that is quite user friendly. Etsy also provides loads and loads of marketing advice and resources to help people like me to become successful.
I'm proud to say that I finally quit my office day job in spring 2010 and never looked back. Not even once. Seriously.
I'm still working hard to build my business now that I have the time. My work is also growing and evolving more than ever.
I'm grateful every single day to have the opportunity to do what I love. I owe huge thanks to my wonderful customers who have been an absolute delight to work with and who challenge me to bring my work to new heights.
In spring 2011 I had a horrific bicycle accident which I'm still recovering from. For a long while I was worried that my shoulder injury would cause me to lose my studio and the career of my dreams. I wondered if I would ever be able to create anything again, or play the piano. Fortunately I was surrounded by family, friends, artists and medical professionals who wouldn't let that happen. Finally, as of May 2012 I'm able to participate in almost all things creative that I used to do before. I've still got lots of physio therapy ahead, but I'll be OK.
Sometimes my husband sees that I'm working on a rush project or a creative challenge and chuckles and says "Why are you doing this? It's not possible!". I just smile and tell him "I'm not in the business of saying no. It's about saying yes!" Well I'm here to tell you that what we dream IS possible. I'm OK with putting in the extra work to make someone's dream happen.
So thank you! All of you, for making my dreams happen. I hope that I too can share this dream with you, one piece at a time. xo

All I can say is that chance brought me here. I dabbled in many creative pursuits and stumbled upon quilting. Once I discovered fabric as my main medium I knew I'd found my way. My inner child runs the joint as I play with fabric and shiny things!
Shop policies
I strive to be as flexible and accessible to you as possible. For this reason my shop policies are designed with you in mind. I hope you enjoy your visit.
Ground Rules On Discounts & Bartering
I make every effort, at great financial expense to provide customers with the best price for precious metals, genuine swarovski crystal and premium quality materials. I deal with fine art and craft items which require skill and expertise to create. I do not cut corners on quality or design. For this reason, requesting discounts for no apparent reason is not appreciated. If I choose to place an item on sale or offer a discount it is because I wish to give back to my customers voluntarily or because it is appropriate in special circumstances and not because the item was overpriced. It is important to me that we take care of each other by having a fair transaction that is mutually beneficial and based on respect. Customers are most welcome and encouraged to ask questions about products to better understand the pricing.

Accepted payment methods
Returns and exchanges
**You have my personal guarantee on the quality of my products and should you ever have a problem or mishap even after 7 days of receiving your purchase, please contact me. Most often I am able to fix or adjust free of charge minus shipping costs.**
My 5 star customer service track record is important to me. If you are ever dissatisfied in any way, please contact me so that I may do my best to meet and exceed your expectations.
Payment
I'm pleased to now offer easy, convenient direct checkout. PayPal is also available if you prefer. Please note that for PayPal e-checks your payment must be cleared prior to shipping. This can take several days.
Shipping
Every effort will be made to reduce shipping expenses on multiple item purchases by combining shipping.
Items under $100 are typically shipped via air mail with insurance. Items OVER $100 are shipped via Canada Xpresspost or Expedited Shipping (U.S. & Canada) with insurance and tracking.
New! Additional shipping upgrades are now available at checkout. If your area is not listed, please inquire. An accurate quote can be provided if you send a request with a) the item(s) you wish to purchase b) your country and postal/zip code
I've noticed that Canada Post tends to be more expensive than other countries such as the United States therefore if you are overcharged more than $1 on shipping you will receive a refund for the difference!
If you require a less expensive shipping option i.e. ground mail, please convo me or indicate under special instructions when purchasing. The difference in cost can either be refunded or if needed, a custom listing can be made.
**IMPORTANT** if you choose not to insure and/or have tracking numbers, I cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen shipments.** I will however, make every effort to help. Please notify me if you have any concerns regarding your shipment.
**If you live in the Greater Toronto area you can avoid shipping costs entirely by picking up your purchase in person at my public studio located in Glen Williams Ontario just 30 minutes West of Toronto. Shipping costs can either be refunded or a custom listing without shipping can be made if needed. For map and details to my studio, visit www.christinemarieford.com or www.williamsmill.com
IMPORTANT ***This shop does not guarantee delivery times on behalf of the post office or any third party delivery service. Every effort will be made to ensure timely results, however christinemarieford.etsy.com is not responsible for late deliveries due to postal issues, customs or otherwise****.
