About CicadaCrafts

On Etsy since 2013

We love gaming and crafting!

Since they met, Crystal and Steven have spent years making and crafting everything you can think of. Upon discovering Etsy, they have taken their hobbies online to share their crafts with anyone who has similar interests.

In 2011, they were introduced to Dungeons & Dragons and their two hobbies joined to bring the tabletop to life. Being very visual people, they began crafting terrain for every week's game and soon learned lots of different methods, tips, and tricks for creating game terrain, furniture, and accessories.

Additional policies and FAQs
Prepping & Painting Resin/Plastic Pieces:

1. Begin by cleaning any flash and mold lines from the castings with your modelling knife. Sand paper and clippers can also be useful.

2. Once you are satisfied with the cleanup, all the parts should be washed so the mold release is removed. Wash all resin pieces with dish washing liquid and warm water. Rinse thoroughly.

3. Allow the parts to air dry completely before moving on. You can use hair dryer to fasten the drying process.

4, Resin kits may rarely have small air bubbles in the parts. Fill possible air bubble holes with modelling putty.

5. Apply a light coat of enamel or lacquer based primer. Games Workshop, P3 or Army Painter primer will do just fine. IMPORTANT: Mist (spray very lightly) a light primer coat and let it dry completely (at least 15 minutes). Repeat if necessary. Hold the can at least 30 cm from the model. Problems will occur if the can is held too close during spraying or if too much paint is applied in one coat (loss of details). It's also a good idea to spray some paint into a small pot and use a brush to paint the parts that are not easily reachable by spray.

6. Apply paint (feel free to use acrylic colors after priming).
