About cinderceramics

Sales 3,051
On Etsy since 2013

It started with a fireplace log....

I began working with clay a few years ago, while I was doing lost wax casting for jewelry making. I wanted a big bronze fireplace log, but then decided I wanted it to be white. The medium that could make this happen was clay. That fireplace tealight log was the first thing I made, and I've never looked back.
This first log design ended up being featured as an exclusive as part of Anthropologie's winter line.

It is a joy to challenge myself to create new things. I especially enjoy making things that have a functional purpose- with a twist. I love thinking of everyday items that I normally find kind of dull, or are made out of plastic- I want to do my part to help save the earth!- and trying to create a version that is fun and unique, like whimsical plunger holders, kitchen sponge holders, silverware trays, yoga mermaids, and more. Many new ideas come from my amazing customers, who keep me inspired and motivated to make new designs that will hopefully inspire and delight right back.
At this point, there are quite a few "collections" of items, all tied to things I love - yoga, cooking, and nature, and a little touch of humor.

Last fall, September 2019, I took the leap and built out my own little Scandinavian-inspired studio. It is my little slice of heaven- I’ll be hosting live, small group workshops one day when we are able to be together again. <3

I have been working with clay for about 9 years, and my work is continuously evolving. I especially love making functional pieces that are beautiful, sustainable, functional pieces or art that bring a smile to your face when you see it or use it. <3
