I have always been a crafter. My mother was a crafter, my sister was a crafter, every woman I knew from my maternal bloodline was a homemaker, seamstress, or had some other crafty skill that I so desperately wanted to connect with. Alas - I'm in my 30s and still have a hard time sewing a straight line, I can't cook very well, and every plant I've ever owned has died at some point or another. So what's a girl to do with a heart so full? Find something else to create!

I started my professional creative life in high school, when I started melting LP records from the thrift stores into bowls/catch-alls. They sold like crazy! I found a way to set my craft apart from the rest of the record bowl-making world, and people bought it.

Through that destruction of classical music and polka tunes, I began developing a love of photography. Don't ask to see those early pictures - they're still floating around the internet. I wasn't very good, but I was determined to learn and improve. After honing my skillset, I began to build a business out of it. I photographed engagements, seniors, product photography for some lovely fellow crafters, and even started doing weddings. I still do that to this day and love it! But I was missing that handmade "maker" mindset and wanted something more.

I fell into the "koozie biz", but not on purpose. I wasn't sure what to do with this machine that I came across, but I started reading, learning, and practicing. And then... poof! It happened! It finally clicked that A) I love beer, and B) I love koozies. What a cool idea it would be to start making my own beer koozies?! So I paired my love of design, "making", and beer to come into this entertaining and exciting "koozie biz".

I'm snarky, I love America, and I still giggle at some of the designs I've come up with (even after looking at them every single day). I love coming up with custom designs, and I love people. So there you have it - Circle Dot Designs was born through a labor of love of crafting, and the fact my green thumb was replaced with a purple elbow.
