A little bit of passion and a lot of hard work

I have always been a crafter. My mother was a crafter, my sister was a crafter, every woman I knew from my maternal bloodline was a homemaker, seamstress, or had some other crafty skill that I so desperately wanted to connect with. Alas - I'm in my 30s and still have a hard time sewing a straight line, I can't cook very well, and every plant I've ever owned has died at some point or another. So what's a girl to do with a heart so full? Find something else to create!

I started my professional creative life in high school, when I started melting LP records from the thrift stores into bowls/catch-alls. They sold like crazy! I found a way to set my craft apart from the rest of the record bowl-making world, and people bought it.

Through that destruction of classical music and polka tunes, I began developing a love of photography. Don't ask to see those early pictures - they're still floating around the internet. I wasn't very good, but I was determined to learn and improve. After honing my skillset, I began to build a business out of it. I photographed engagements, seniors, product photography for some lovely fellow crafters, and even started doing weddings. I still do that to this day and love it! But I was missing that handmade "maker" mindset and wanted something more.

I fell into the "koozie biz", but not on purpose. I wasn't sure what to do with this machine that I came across, but I started reading, learning, and practicing. And then... poof! It happened! It finally clicked that A) I love beer, and B) I love koozies. What a cool idea it would be to start making my own beer koozies?! So I paired my love of design, "making", and beer to come into this entertaining and exciting "koozie biz".

I'm snarky, I love America, and I still giggle at some of the designs I've come up with (even after looking at them every single day). I love coming up with custom designs, and I love people. So there you have it - Circle Dot Designs was born through a labor of love of crafting, and the fact my green thumb was replaced with a purple elbow.

Frequently asked questions
What order do initials go in a monogram?

Monograms are a staple here in the south!
"My Rule Is If It's Not Moving–Monogram It." – Reese Witherspoon

Monograms vary in style, but here are a few pointers to help you out:

Single monogram: May be a first or last initial... it's up to you!

Feminine monograms and couples' monograms often have a larger middle letter surrounded by smaller letters on the left and right. The larger letter in the middle should always be the last name!

Feminine: First Last Middle = FLM
Couple: Bride Last Groom = BLG

If all the letters are the same size (block), they should be in order.
Masculine: First Middle Last = FML

Do you only make koozies?

Heck no! I can customize nearly anything you can think of. I have a studio full of other items to customize and I can fulfill special request too, if you have something in mind.

Examples of other items I regularly work with that aren't always listed for sale on Etsy are:

* Double-walled tumblers (including lidded shorties, perfect for WINE!)
* Stemless wine glasses (glass and plastic versions)
* Insulated solo cups
* Beach towels
* Wine bottle bags
* Tote bags
* Baby bodysuits
* T-shirts/tank tops
* Fleece blankets and stadium blankets
* Ready-to-apply decals
... and more !

Gift wrapping and packaging

If you're purchasing as a gift, please mark it as such and also let me know if you'd like me to include a handwritten note from you! You can write your message in the "Notes to Seller" box at checkout, or send me a message through Etsy immediately after purchase. I'm happy to make sure your gift is just perfect!

Custom and personalized orders

I love custom orders and personalizations! Shoot me a message with anything you have in mind. Custom can koozie designs for weddings, bachelor/bachelorette parties, and vacations are some of my personal faves!
