About ClaudineMoncion
Contemporary jewels using architecture as the basis of design
The unique style of the jeweler Claudine Moncion comes from a rigorous approach that she acquired through her academic training in visual arts and architecture as well as from several courses and workshops in jewelry. In addition to having a Master's degree in Architecture from the University of Montreal, Claudine received training from the Alchimia Contemporary Jewelry School in Florence, the El Taller Workshop in Barcelona and the BKMW Jewelery School in Brooklyn. Her style is imbued with architectural references in addition to merging the classical and contemporary styles. Her current production, Ag47 + Cu29, is made exclusively of copper and silver sterling. This collection exposes the color contrast between the materials as well as their distinct transformation over time. Minimalist and geometric, her jewelry diverges from the organic forms of the human body by accentuating the concept of opposition. In addition to her personal jewelery practice, Claudine offers design and manufacturing of rings and other items for college and university graduates. This service is intended for cohorts of graduates who wish to develop an object representative of their studies that they have themselves conceptualized.
