Claycult Cambodia - beautiful handmade ceramic beads & jewelery

Claycult Cambodia is a social enterprise incorporating fair trade practices in the workplace. Claycult offers sustainable long term employment in a safe work environment and access to education and training for socially disadvantaged persons in the community. We aim to provide permanent, flexible employment to mostly women who have little opportunities within the workplace. These women are trained in the ancient craft of ceramic bead making. All of our clay is dug locally & the beads fired in our kilns at our workshop.

I came to Cambodia in 2008 & fell in love with the genuine open heartedness of the people. Having a degree in Ceramics from Australia I looked to ways of using my passion for ceramics in my new home and sharing my love for clay. Cambodia is classified as a Least Developed Nation and as such has very little in the way of government training programs or decent education. We began the workshop, training 4 people from our community, in the different aspects of ceramics & bead making. Now claycult provides employment to 16 individuals on a full or part time basis depending on their own personal life circumstances.

The jewelery you find at our Etsy shop is all designed and crafted by me & the beads made & painted by our wonderful team of young Khmers.

We are an NGO, however at present receive no outside contributions but rather rely on our commitment to provide our customers with a beautiful, unique individual product reflecting the high quality of training and workmanship.

Claycult Cambodia - not just beautiful jewellery but something from the heart of this mystic land.
