THESE WERE AMAZING. Even better in person, no joke. Everyone was incredibly happy with their Christmas gifts, and others were incredibly jealous. :)
It starts with a line, a color, a sound, a newly discovered treasure then it meets my hands to become your newest accessory.
Jewelry making has always been part of my creative expression. It started as a child helping my dad create his neon colored fiberglass jewelry for tourists along the Florida panhandle. My obsession grew the day I discovered this huge mound of dirt in my grandpa's backyard. It was filled with stones. I started digging and collecting these stones. I imagined them to be jewels. I bought a tumbler and even visited a locally owned jewelry store to see how a real jeweler spent their day. I was hooked.
Over the years I have dabbled in other mediums and even completed a college degree in Fine Arts. I learned to shape metal by creating large sculptures out of iron and steel. There is something empowering about using fire to shape and bend metal into beautiful works of art. I moved on from there and began studying the world of light and composition. I became fully immersed in learning how to become a photographer. My last experiment in college was beginning to learn about printing and photo silkscreen.
I am so full of ideas and inspiration that I just love to create no matter what the medium. One day I hope to incorporate all of my talents into one perfect creation...
I recently discovered the craft of handmade stamps. I myself have not learned the craft, but I collect stamps that are cut by hand into steel. The majority of my stamp collection comes from stamp makers from the Navajo nation. I am drawn to the lines and patterns the stamps create. It's almost like print making onto metal. I am in love with the process of hammering these designs onto a blank piece of metal. The possibilities are endless.
My current line of jewelry is inspired by so many aspects of my life. I draw inspiration from music, nature, colors, geometry, chaos, the still quiet when I wake up in the middle of the night, the little treasures I find in vintage stores, or from exploring a museum or another country. I hope my stories can help you tell your stories.
I am so happy that I can share my inspiration with you as an object that you can hold and wear. An object that will hopefully bring you as much joy to wear as it brought me to create it.
Owner, Designer, Maker, Curator, Manipulator Of Metal And Words
I like to think of myself as an inventor. My inventions are currently coming into existence in the form of jewelry. I started creating at an early age with paint and paper in my Grandma's studio. Today I tinker with metal and stones in my own studio.
