Coal River Studio is the salvage and design arm of Coal River Homes, a small real estate investment and renovation business based in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area.

Our work starts inside real homes. As Coal River Homes renovates properties, we look for the pieces worth saving — vintage goods, architectural salvage, hardware, décor, furniture, housewares, and materials with character. Some pieces are cleaned and restored. Others are preserved as-found, with the kind of age, patina, and imperfection that only time can create.

Coal River Studio was built around a simple belief: old things are worth saving when they still have beauty, craftsmanship, and a story to tell.

Every item in our shop is selected with care. Many pieces are found during renovation projects, estate cleanouts, or local sourcing throughout Western Pennsylvania. We focus on items that feel timeless, useful, and full of character — the kind of pieces that bring warmth and history into a home.
