I've always been an artist at heart 👩🏻‍🎨❤

After a 35-year absence from art, I tried my hand at painting stones and was pleasantly surprised to learn I had a talent for it, particularly painting animals! I have a deep respect for nature and all living things and love to reproduce it, particularly on smooth river rocks, a natural painting canvas. I take great pride in my work and will ALWAYS ensure you absolutely love your custom order. Thank you for taking the time to read about me and I look forward to painting for you!

Welcome to my art studio!

Here at CobbledArt, I paint custom lifelike pet portraits and memorials, house portraits, wildlife and people portraits, painted on stone. I have recently started on canvas and wood as well. They are a wonderful way to celebrate special family members, including people :-), or memorialize those beloved pets that have passed away. I use the personal photos you send me as references to render realistic likenesses of your desired subject. In fact, it is a personal guarantee of mine that I will capture the essence and soul of your pet, human, or house!

Please browse my shop and view samples of my work. I am quite adventurous and will try new concepts and ideas!

Thank you, I look forward to working with you!

Paying a $25.00 deposit and the balance upon approval of the finished stone is also an option. Contact me via the "REQUEST CUSTOM ORDER, CONTACT, or ASK A QUESTION" button and we will then begin communication regarding your order. I will send an invoice for the deposit via PayPal to your email address. (Note: A PayPal account is not needed in order to pay thru PayPal). The balance owing is due upon completion of the stone and your final approval!

Additional policies and FAQs

• Communication regarding the order will take place through this “conversation” or "convo" mode on Etsy, much like e-mail.

• Have in mind the size of stone you want your portrait painted on. A visual size/price chart is available in all of the listing's picture gallery. Note whether you would like the stone to lie flat or stand upright, or if you would like an easel/stand to hold your art piece.

• Payment terms will be explained to you.

• Once the specifics of the stone painting are agreed upon, you will be asked to send your own personal photos of your pet, the highest resolution possible, with one particular photo in mind for the pose you desire. More than one photo is extremely helpful for other details and coloring of your pet. Photos may be sent through Etsy "Convo" or conversation, but text or email will work also.

• Completion is typically in 4-10 weeks (depending on size and current workload) but I will let you know during the information exchanging period. I keep in touch during the painting process, and send work in progress photos, to ensure you know the status of your order and are liking the painting.

Frequently asked questions
Can the painted stones be safely displayed outdoors?

Yes, with the proper maintenance. All stones are sealed with an outdoor grade polyurethane varnish. We recommend avoidance of direct sunlight and the re-application of outdoor varnish every 1-2 years.

How are the stones shipped?

Stones are shipped via USPS Priority Small, Medium or Large Flat Rate Box. This is the most cost effective shipping method considering the stones' weights - some may weight up to 35 pounds! I do not paint on stones that will not fit in one of these sizes of flat rate boxes. Packages are fully insured and require a signature upon delivery.

Custom and personalized orders

I will consult with you regarding every custom order and make sure our ideas are in sync before I start. I often send mock up images so you may envision how an idea may look painted on the surface you choose - stone, wood, or canvas. Please do not hesitate to ask about any idea you may have...I am quite adventurous!

What are the different stone types available?

The three stone types available are River Rock (most popular), Quartzite, and Bluestone.

River Rock: Available in five sizes, from mini to large. They are smooth and water worn, a desirable painting surface. You can choose a stone that lies flat or stands upright.

Quartzite: Available only in large size. They are flat and squarish, with rugged edges. They have a natural earthy look to them.

Bluestone: Available in medium and large size. They are a landscape stone with a rectangular shape. They are cut and tumbled so as to be smooth on all edges. They can lie flat, as stepping stones do, stand upright on its flat bottom edge, or be displayed in a heavy duty metal easel.
