About

Patterns of my life

I started this shop with my own personal collection of patterns from the 1960s and the collection of a friend. I've been making projects since 1959 and remember with fondness many of the patterns and styles I sell.

I've loved running this shop and meeting so many of you who, like me, love vintage patterns.

Sadly, Coconut Pie has closed. I need to concentrate more and more on writing. I am a journalist and a writer for both children and adults. Please check out my novel, Snarky and Sweet and look for its sequel, Sassy and Sweet, which will be coming out in 2013.

Adieu to my pattern-loving friends. Susan

Shop policies

Vintage patterns rock! It makes me happy to send these lovely envelopes of possibility out into the world.

But these patterns have also been around awhile so are almost never perfect. Patterns that have been cut will be counted for completeness. Most older patterns have rips or tears in the envelope, but the pattern pieces will be in good condition unless otherwise noted. Since I have patterns from many eras, please note that sizes have changed over the years. For women’s patterns, always check bust size. If possible, I will scan the back of the pattern so that you can check measurements.

Although my home is pet-free and smoke-free, these patterns come from a variety of places. Those with allergies should remember that older patterns often have been stored in less than optimal conditions.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
Payment
I accept PayPal or credit card. All return customers receive a coupon code on their packing slip for 10 per cent off all future purchases.
Shipping
Domestic and international patterns ship by United States Postal Service. All patterns are protected by plastic and by a stiff backer board.

Please note that because my local post office is closed on Saturday, I ship Monday through Friday. Orders received on Friday afternoon, Saturday or Sunday will usually ship on Monday.
Refunds and Exchanges
I do not accept returns or exchanges on patterns. I also try to pack them well. But if a pattern was damaged in shipping, please send a photo so that I can work something out with you.
Additional policies and FAQs
A notice about pricing. These are my final reductions in price. My writing career is beginning to take off and so I am closing shop. It's been fun but I have to move on. Please take advantage of these wonderful prices.
