About

Sewing for Thoughts

I started pursuing my sewing passion in May 2013. I literally was using my hands, needle and thread. No Machine yet. I was making clothes for my self. I would stay up late nights just to work on a skirt, or shirt and so on and still have a full time job. I have always had a desire to sew and design, I just didn't think i was serious about it. So after graduating with my Masters in Hotel Management and Tourism, I used sewing as a hobby. Little did I know, I was getting better, I started making clothes (mainly women) for friends, family and co-workers. Then I started receiving orders from people I didn't know, but they were referred to me by someone I knew. I kept up with everyone and their orders, and finally I decided to open my Etsy Shop in June 2014 to reach out to more people that might have been interested in what I do. After a while, I noticed I needed to find a way to reach out to Men's clothing and I was excited to start the T Shirt Line using African Prints.

What I do: I am from Tanzania (East Africa) and I LOVE African Prints and I was good at using those fabrics, therefore I decided that was what would set me apart selling in America. I shop around for good fabrics with interesting prints and I use them to cut and sew my own created designs. My Fabrics come from Tanzania, Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya and Cameroon. I make everything myself. I believe attention to details and creativity is what sets me apart. Because I am passionate about what I do, I put a lot of time thinking, planning, creating and then take action on my designs. I now have focused my creativity and business on the African Print T shirts for Both men and women and I am sure I will go far with this line. The purpose of my African Prints usage is to express different styles that are out there for everyone!

Thank you for the continuous support from my family, friends and my repeat customers.
