Arthur Cohee, DBA Cohee Jewelry
Your privacy is critically important to us. At Cohee Jewelry, we have a few fundamental principles:
• We are thoughtful about the personal information we ask you to provide and the personal information that we collect about you through the operation of our services.
• We store personal information for only as long as we have a reason to keep it.
• We aim for full transparency on how we gather, use, and share your personal information.
Below is Cohee Jewelry’s privacy policy, which incorporates and clarifies these principles.
What This Policy Covers
Throughout this Privacy Policy, the words: “I,” “my,” “we,” “us” and “the company” refer to Cohee Jewelry.
Also, the Cohee Jewelry Etsy shop services will be referred to collectively as “Services.”
This Privacy Policy applies to information that we collect about you when you use the Cohee Jewelry Etsy Shop
Below we explain how we collect, use, and share information about you, along with the choices that you have with respect to that information.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, please contact us (customerservice@CoheeJewelry.com).
Information Cohee Jewelry Collects
I only collect information about you if I have a reason to do so–for example, to provide our Services, to communicate with you, or to make our Services better. To fulfil your order, you must provide Cohee Jewelry with certain information (which you authorized Etsy to provide), such as your name, email address, postal address, payment information, and the details of the product that you’re ordering. You may also choose to provide Cohee Jewelry with additional personal information (for a custom order of jewelry, for example), if you contact me directly.
Why Cohee Jewelry Needs Your Information and How It Is Used
Cohee Jewelry relies on a number of legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including:
• as needed to provide my services, such as when Cohee Jewelry uses your information to fulfil your order, to settle disputes, or to provide customer support;
• when you have provided your affirmative consent, which you may revoke at any time, such as by signing up for the Cohee Jewelry mailing list;
• if necessary to comply with a legal obligation or court order or in connection with a legal claim, such as retaining information about your purchases if required by tax law; and
• as necessary for the purpose of Cohee Jewelry’s legitimate interests, if those legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights or interests, such as 1) providing and improving Cohee Jewelry services. Cohee Jewelry uses your information to provide the services you requested and, in the company’s, legitimate interest to improve services; and 2) Compliance with the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use. Cohee Jewelry uses your information as necessary to comply with the company’s obligations under the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use.
Cohee Jewelry uses information about you as mentioned above and as follows:
• To monitor and analyze trends and better understand how users interact with our Services, which helps us improve our Services and make them easier to use;
• To monitor and protect the security of our Services, detect and prevent fraudulent transactions and other illegal activities, fight spam, and protect the rights and property of Cohee Jewelry and others;
• To communicate with you about offers and promotions offered by Cohee Jewelry and others we think will be of interest to you, solicit your feedback, or keep you up to date on Cohee Jewelry and our products.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
Information about Cohee Jewelry’s customers is important to my business. Cohee Jewelry shares your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:
• Etsy. Cohee Jewelry shares information with Etsy as necessary to provide you services and comply with my obligations under both the Etsy Seller Policy and Etsy Terms of Use.
• Service providers. Cohee Jewelry engages certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services to the Cohee Jewelry Etsy shop, such as delivery companies. Cohee Jewelry will share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these services.
• Business transfers. If Cohee Jewelry sells or merges the business, Cohee Jewelry may disclose your information as part of that transaction, only to the extent permitted by law.
• Compliance with laws. Cohee Jewelry may collect, use, retain, and share your information if I have a good faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to: (a) respond to legal process or to government requests; (b) enforce my agreements, terms and policies; (c) prevent, investigate, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; or (d) protect the rights, property, and safety of my customers, or others.
Information Shared Publicly
Information that you choose to make public is–you guessed it–disclosed publicly. That means, of course, that information like your posts in our product reviews or social media. Public information may also be indexed by search engines or used by third parties. Please keep all of this in mind when deciding what you would like to share on Social Media for example.
Data Retention
Cohee Jewelry retains your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with services and as described in this Privacy Policy. However, Cohee Jewelry may also be required to retain this information to comply with legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce my agreements. Cohee Jewelry will generally keep your data for the following time period: 4 years.
Transfers of Personal Information Outside the EU
Cohee Jewelry may store and process your information through third-party hosting services in the US and other jurisdictions. As a result, I may transfer your personal information to a jurisdiction with different data protection and government surveillance laws than your jurisdiction. If I am deemed to transfer information about you outside of the EU, I rely on Privacy Shield as the legal basis for the transfer, as Google Cloud is Privacy Shield certified.
Your Rights
If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases. I describe these rights below:
• Access. You may have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information I hold about you by contacting me using the contact information below.
• Change, restrict, delete. You may also have rights to change, restrict my use of, or delete your personal information. Absent exceptional circumstances (like where I am required to store data for legal reasons) I will generally delete your personal information upon request.
• Object. You can object to (i) my processing of some of your information based on my legitimate interests and (ii) receiving marketing messages from me after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, I will delete your personal information unless I have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons.
• Complain. If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.
Notice regarding non-personal information
Cohee Jewelry must retain sales information in a database, including items sold, sales price and taxes collected for tax purposes. If you request that personal information be deleted from my database, the personally identifiable information will be replaced with the term “customer” and all other sales data will remain intact.
How to Contact Cohee Jewelry
For purposes of EU data protection law, I, Cohee Jewelry, am the data controller of your personal information. If you have any questions or concerns, you may contact me at
