5 out of 5 starsI procrastinated in getting a white elephant gift and I messaged the seller Thursday night last week. She shipped it out the next day and it got to me five days before I needed it. Well crafted, sturdy, and a beautiful cover! Would recommend this shop.

5 out of 5 starsWhen I opened my package I let out the loudest gasp ever. I’ve never seen something so incredibly gorgeous! It was packaged carefully and with lots of love, I was too scared to rip anything open! Haha I am IN LOVE with this new sketch book of mine, and will treasure it dearly. Thank you! 🤍🤍

Frequently asked questions
What kind of materials do you use?
Boards
I use single ply .80 Davey board with long cut grain. Davey board is optimal over chip board because it doesn't warp or start to bow when glue is applied.
Text block
Please see my "Tell me more about the text block (paper you write on) inside the journals!" question for details!
Glue
I use acid free, archival quality glue.
Eyelets
My eyelets come from the Etsy shop Designs by Jude (https://www.etsy.com/shop/designsbyjude). They are excellent quality and the paint does not chip.
Thread
I use four ply waxed linen thread from Ireland.
What kind of stitches do you use for the binding?
Coptic stitch
This is a traditional book binding stitch. It is extremely secure and the journal lays flat when opened.
French stitch
This is a more decorative book binding stitch. It is not as secure as the coptic stitch, but provides detailing on the spine. It also lays flat when opened.
Celtic weave
This is the most decorative book binding stitch I make. It involves two separate threads being interwoven together. This binding lays flat when opened and is only available for blank journals.
Please feel free to send me a message if you want a specific stitch used to make your book and you don't see it listed.
What journal sizes do you offer?
My journals come in six sizes and in five different styles of paper:
6" x 4.5" blank
6" x 9" blank (lengthwise, like for a wedding guest book)
7" x 5.25" lined
7" x 7" (this is for mixed media journals only)
8.75" x 6.25" lined
8.75" x 6.25" dot grid
8.75" x 6.25" graph
8.75" x 6.25" Tomoe River
9" x 6" blank
12.5" x 9.5" blank (this is for watercolor sketchbooks)
If there is a cover paper not listed with a size that you want, please let me know so I can make something special for you!
Do you provide gift wrapping? How do you package your journals before mailing them?
Let me know if you need your item wrapped for a special occasion! When I mail out journals, they are packaged in a cellophane bag to protect them in case the mailing envelope gets damaged in transit.
Do you accept custom orders?
Yes! Send me a message and I will get back to you within 24 hours to see if it can be accomplished. I love working with my customers and helping their vision become a reality. :)
Tell me more about the text block (paper you write on) inside the journals!
In my blank journals, I use 28 lb Mohawk superfine paper in eggshell. It is thicker and nicer than copier paper. For my lined journals, I use Italian paper that is more of a cream color compared to the blank paper. In both my dot grid and graph paper journals, I use Rhodia paper, which is highly recommended if you use fountain pens. The graph paper is not like the 20 lb graph paper you are used to seeing! The Tomoe River paper is only available in blank. I have their white paper in stock, but let me know if you would prefer their cream paper!
Shipping seems expensive! What's the deal?
Your new journal is shipped in a priority envelope and should get to you in 2-3 days if you live in the US. If you buy two small blank journals, I will refund the shipping for the second journal since both will fit in a priority envelope. If you buy two or more small lined journals or larger, they are shipped in a medium flat rate box. A medium flat rate box can fit up to 8 small blank journals or 4 large journals (this does not include watercolor sketchbooks), so any overages will be refunded.
International shipping is based on weight and I do take a small loss for everything sent international. International packages are sent in a bubble envelope or a box, if ordering more than one book.
