Announcement Welcome to my shop. Here you can buy something absolutely unique. Some pieces are one of a kind; some are part of a limited edition slightly different from the last. My work is like married metals, like inlay, like mokume gane, like metal matrix composite. Mostly it's just like magic. :)

This is the second set of earrings I have from this shop. This pair is lovely and light and a bit more "informal" than the round pair, but still with a lovely dichotomy of rough and refined. I can't wait to wear them to work tomorrow.
Extraondinary colour from oridinary metals
I have found, as have others, that metal changes colour on the surface when it is heated. Even after decades of doing this, I still delight in the results of a carefully selected metal mixture or happy accident even, having been worked to perfection and then heated. Always, there is something new, whether it is the exact nature of the mix or some tiny crystal strands forming astounding textures.
This process allows me to express a little of journey of this material from its deep earth origins, in ore or nugget, through use in great and small human projects, to retirement. At this point I intervene and reset it for use as a wearable, decorative story.
This is fantastic opportunity to have fun with a intriguing set of natural and irridecsent colours, with shapes of simpliciy and beauty and have a unique (and absolutely unrepeatable!) piece to wear.
Around the web
I think the stuff I make is fascinating and unique. I am happy to discus anything re. quality, materials, wearability, prior to purchase.
Look at it one way, they are just lumps of metal - another, I have spent hours preparing the material for your purchase and years developing a technique which brings out the essential beauty of the materials.
I am currently putting a selection of all the new work I make on Etsy, if you want to see some of my past work please check out more about the history and process at my website -
