Hi there, my name is Yoko and I live in a picturesque city of Delft. I started Studio Collectionaise in 2019 when I moved to the Netherlands from Sydney, Australia with my husband and young daughter. In Sydney, I worked in sales and marketing but always enjoyed making things in my spare time. The international move pushed me to follow my passion and that's what Collectionaise is all about, it's to share my passion for creativity.

You might have guessed from my name that I am Japanese. Yes, I was born in Tokyo and raised overseas. I was fortunate enough to live in different parts of the world: Australia, Canada and Peru. And I was even more fortunate to make friends with people from different cultural backgrounds. Knowing about other cultures and comparing them with my own cultural background helped me establish my own cultural identity. And some of my products here represent Japanese culture, as well as other cultures that I have been influenced by.

I also believe in recycling and upcycling, and I try to make things from pre-loved fabrics wherever possible. I enjoy taking something that is no longer used and giving it a new life.
