About

Unique paintings of whismical landscapes, sacred geometry, starry skies, and even art that will tickle your funny bone!

• About the Art •

The mystique of classical paintings from the great masters of oil such as Monet, Leonardo da Vinci and Rembrandt, there is something esoteric and deeply engrained in ones psyche about oil paintings.

Each oil painting is painstakingly created by hand with care. It begins with a spark of inspiration, be it a simple flash of color or an elaborate thought. Each layer of oil paint requires several days to cure, but that is how oil paintings shine!

But some paintings are better said with watercolors. Technical or whimsical, there is a certain magic that only the delicate nature of watercolors can provide.

There is an alchemy to creating with watercolors. While watercolors do not take as long as oils to create, it is one of the hardest paints to master. Each pigment has its own characteristic, and react differently to water, binder and air. But the results are amazing!

• About the Cartoons •

Snootle™ by Tia Petty debuted in 2004 and has two books out, Snootle and Snootle In: How To Treat Your Puppy. It is about a puppy and a garden snake who try to keep their human child from getting into trouble. Petty also has another pet project called Basil Fuzzybottom, which is about a traveling hamster who goes to exotic places for amazing selfies.

• About the Artist •

Anawanitia Petty (Tia) is a American-born artist with a Native American name. Her family had a great debate between the names Anawanitia and Penelope. Given her married name, Penelope would have sounded very funny! Petty has been an active painter since the early 1990s and a published cartoonist since 2002.

Petty’s influences include William Blake, Monet, Rembrandt, Christian Lassen, Jim Davis and many anonymous artists that have illuminated codexes and manuscripts throughout history.

Frequently asked questions
Will you customized your painting?

All paintings are original paintings. These are not customizable.

Do you accept commissions?

At this point in time, I do accept commissions for digital art only. Digital illustrations are a great way to spice up your website.

Do you frame your art?

My paintings ships unframed. The paintings on canvases do not need frames. Works on paper and panels are not framed. For the sake of your home decor, it is best to have a picture framed to your liking at your local frame shop.

Do you ship around the world?

Perhaps in the future. At this time, I ship my art to continental United States only. Sorry for any inconvenience.

How long does it take to paint a picture?

The beauty of my shop, is that all of the paintings on display are ready to ship next business day.

As for the process of creation, it depends on the complexity of the painting. All oil paintings take up to two weeks to cure after completion. Watercolors from inspiration to packaged for shipment are usually done within a week.

What paints do you use?

All of my paints are professional artist grade, archival and light-fast. For oils I use Gamblin and Winsor & Newton; for acrylics I use Golden and for watercolors I use Daniel Smith.

Where do you get your ideas?

From years of studying philosophy, astronomy, symbology, mathematics and the like.

But sometimes, just playing with my paints is all that is needed to inspire a picture.

Why is the color different from what I ordered?

Regrettably, no matter how much care goes into scanning a product, computers, tablets and cell phone monitors vary in color displays, and therefore will inevitably show you slightly different colors. I apologize for any inconvenience. If you truly do not like the painting, please contact me to arrange a return for an exchange or refund. Thank you for your time.

Do you sell prints?

Possibly in the future. At this time, I am unable to locate a respectable printing service. However, I do have downloadable art that you can print from home!
