About

A magical little felting shop dedicated to ending poverty by supporting women and children in developing countries

I love wool. It is warm, soft, comforting. Wool from happy, well-cared-for sheep can mean a warm head, a lovely scarf, a pair of slippers, a work of art, or a sculpture of a pet that has crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

Crafting from wool is a labor of love, requiring a lot of patience as you create art one needle stab at a time or one wet-felting hour at a time.

I started Conspiracy of Love because my family sponsors 8 children with Compassion International. Their stories have touched my lives, and their friendship and love has blessed me beyond anything I could have imagined. Through their eyes I have become more loving, kinder, more compassionate. In order to do more to help families in poverty, I began creating art and donating the proceeds to the Mothers and Babies fund at Compassion. That fund goes to pre and post natal care for women in the developing world. At times when natural disasters strike in Compassion assisted areas, I donate proceeds to the "where most needed" or "disaster relief" funds.

I am a trained advocate for Compassion, and I trust them with my donations. I have met children who graduated from the program, and have heard their stories. Compassion is the only child sponsorship program that has allowed an outside research agency study the effectiveness of child sponsorship in changing lives. Their transparency is refreshing.

Thanks to the proceeds from this site, I've been able to donate as much as $3,000 to Compassion in a given year. I am grateful to all of my customers.
