Whether it’s sterling silver, copper, mixed metal, or fiber, each bracelet, pendant, necklace, and pair of earrings I create is a one of a kind mindfully crafted with attention to quality workmanship so that each piece of jewelry is a piece of art. I pour this same joy and care into all of my convoluted notions from earring holders to copper beaded candle snuffers to bloomin’ button bouquets and beyond!
While each of my creations is born of an original idea, none is begun with a detailed pattern or complete design in mind. Each creation evolves organically as I allow the unique qualities of the materials themselves to suggest how best they should be brought together.

This is going to be a gift to her spouse, the buttons represent him, his beloved wife, and their 4 children. This item is really pretty in person, and thank you so much for shipping it so quickly. This candle snuffer is such a cool idea and I use it nearly every day now. And the packaging came with such good vibes. It made me happy just to open it and read all the encouraging notes.

About ConvolutedNotions
"convoluted notions" is all manner of artsy creation born of flights of fancy, dashes of whimsy, and generous sprinklings of pure joy
I've been fiddling around with words, fiber, fabric, beads, color, clay, wire, paper, and whatever random bits of ephemera I could get my hands on for as long as I can remember. I've always especially loved repurposing, upcycling, and recycling things... giving new life to something old in an altered art creation.
Creating has always given me so much joy!
In 2007, with the encouragement of family and friends, I listened to my heart and started "convoluted notions" as a business and a way to hopefully share my joy with others.
"convoluted notions" literally means "twisted, winding ideas" and is the perfect way to describe my process. While each of my creations is born of an original idea, none is begun with a completed, predetermined design. Each creation evolves organically as I allow the unique qualities of the materials themselves to suggest how best they should be brought together.
This business enables me to dream, experiment, create, market, and share whatever fancy flies my way, whatever whim strikes that fancy.
It's my hope that the joy I experience throughout this process is conveyed in each of my convoluted notions creations!

Every purchase is mindfully and attractively wrapped and packaged for shipping solely by me.
Because I strive to use recycled materials whenever possible for cushioning my creations for safe shipping, your purchase may arrive protected by last Sunday's Sanford Herald or the bubble wrap or foam peanuts from whatever randomness might have been previously shipped to my home or a friend's home. If you'd prefer "first run" cushioning materials in your package, just let me know in your comments when purchasing and I'll be happy to honor your wishes.
