50 + years of making things
I can remember being about 8 years of age when my Aunt taught me to crochet, and I've been learning how to make things since that time. My Aunt left me her supplies and I have just gathered so much the 50+ years that I have been creating. Every holiday I've had, work trip and shopping trip has included a visit to a haberdashery store throughout my life. Of course since the introduction of e commerce- I have also excitedly clicked the keyboards when I have found a new item and waited eagerly to unwrap it- all of you crafters know the feeling :)
I have had a special interest in collecting vintage items- hence why you see so much of this in my shop.
I know the day will come when my loved items will need to be cleared out, so I am doing it now to make sure that they go to other crafters !!
I still work as a Social Worker with children and young people and I have used my crafting as a way to engage with them, so I used to purchase in large amounts so that I could run workshops etc.
Crazy thing is I still buy things when I see them - it really is an obsession!
I still make things, I crochet, make jewellery and sew. I also play with mixed media and I am thinking of writing a book!
I hope you find something you would like to take and love like I have over very many years and make good use of my cherished possessions.
