About

Coolclimates: colorful, evocative and unexpected

I have been spinning since 2002. Starting on a spindle and now I have 2 spinning wheels! In 2009, I took a Pluckyfluff art yarn workshop in Chicago. Since 2009, I've been experimenting with unusual art yarns. I've also been making yarns from upcycled and repurposed materials.
In addition to spinning, I'm an avid knitter. I also do crochet, beadwork, felting, sculpture and mixed media.

Shop policies

Last updated on October 27, 2011
Coolclimates specializes in one-of-a-kind handspun yarns and art yarns. Many of the yarns incorporate several types of fiber, much of which is hand dyed. I also make component yarns (yarns that are combinations of commercial yarns tied together to make a new unique yarn). Additionally, I offer yarn samplers and exclusive clubs featuring a different yarn(s) each month.

CUSTOM ORDERS/COMMISSIONS

I have done many custom orders which have gotten positive feedback. I am happy to do a commission; just let me know!
I require a 50% deposit of the final cost before starting an an item. This deposit is non refundable. Once I get the deposit, I will get started on the order. When the order is listed, the deposit will be deducted from the total.

I normally need about one week minimum or more (depending on the size of the order and if I need to buy special materials) to make the order. Once I place the item in my store, I will reserve it for you. It must be purchased within 7 days or I will no longer reserve it and make it available to sell to the general public.

Please also note that if I make repeat products, they will not be exactly the same as the original. However, I will try to make it as similar as possible. Each piece is truly one-of-a-kind.

EXPIRATION POLICY
If an item is about to expire and I don't plan on renewing it, I will make a note in the title that the item is about to expire. If you see that an item expires in the title, that means that it will expire in 7 days or less.
