Announcement   All items listed for sale in my shop are made and ready to ship!
I rescue hardwoods from storm damaged trees, logging operations and even pieces of firewood too beautiful to burn! I create exquisite wood treasures here in my one-man woodworking shop in rural Kentucky. Every box, lamp and home accessory is designed and made with fine craftsmanship, sanded to perfection, soaked and hand rubbed in Danish penetrating oils and buffed. Selecting each piece of wood and combining them into pieces of art of heirloom quality is what I do. Please check out my reviews and see that my customers often return to purchase more for friends and family.

NOTE: I am happy to ship my work anywhere in the world but please convo me prior to purchasing a piece so I can figure the best rates for international shipping and add to the price. "How to Care For Your Box" can be found under Additional Information by clicking on "Policies" in the left hand column offerings. Custom orders do require a non-refundable deposit.

Additional policies and FAQs
Care For Boxes :
Places you should avoid putting boxes.
Places that have excessive moisture, such as a steamy bathroom - a damp basement – next to a sink or drinking fountain, which can get water spots all over a box.
Places where extreme temperature changes occur, such as in front of, or right under a fan – right above or next to heat or air conditioning vents – in windows that get a lot of sunlight, which can darken certain woods also.
Wood is like skin, over time it can dry out and needs to be oiled or polished to bring its luster back. I use “Furniture Polish &Cleaner by Proven Solutions”, (To order call Woodworkers Supply, Inc. 1-800-645-9292), to bring back that finished look. I use soft, clean cotton rags, no decals, lettering, buttons etc. Use a small folded up piece of rag as an applicator and apply a coat of polish to the whole box, allow to sit for 10 minutes. Wipe off excess oil using two rags, one in each hand, so you don’t get your finger prints all over the box. Wipe off well and use some clean rags to buff the box, to bring out the luster.
Tip : always rub with the grain of the wood when possible and Use soft, clean cotton rags!
CAUTION : oil rags can be dangerous! They can start a fire! Do not leave in a pile!
For a deeper penetrating oiling, and to deal with water marks and light scratches, I use “Watco Rejuvinating Oil”. I first apply a coat of oil to the box with a folded cotton rag.
Then I use 0000 steel wool with oil on it, and always rubbing with the grain, I work the areas that need special attention. Lets say your trouble area is on a side, make sure that you work the steel wool over the whole side to “blend” the work into the whole area. Don’t just rub on one little spot! Let the oil sit for 10-15 minutes then wipe off with 2 soft, clean rags- one in each hand, then buff er’ up with some clean rags to bring up the luster.
CAUTION : Oil Rags Can Be Dangerous! They can start a fire!
Any Questions you might have just send me an etsy convo and I will surely try to answer them for you. Happy Trails To You! Gary Cooper
