Announcement   Welcome to our shop! Take a few minutes to enjoy two age old arts; copper and glass, with a modern flare. Our pieces are functional and beautiful and intended to bring many years of enjoyment to our customers.

and read about our process on our blog: http://www.mikedumascopperdesigns.com/blog

My husband Mike, is an accomplished copper artist and woodworker, and I am an artist who loves to work in glass with all of it's color and textural possibilities. Mike has been working with wood most of his life and has combined the beauty of copper with his work for over 10 years now. I have been fusing glass for several years, and enjoy the thrill of opening the kiln. (I realized recently that fusing is a lot like gardening. It requires a lot of patience and tending to the process. It is definitely not an instant gratification thing. . . and I like that.) together we have carved out a small home business that makes us appreciate the simple things in life; home, family, and each other.

We hope you enjoy shopping with us and take home something you love.
We welcome custom orders!

About

Innovative Lighting and Sustainable Art in Copper and Glass

In 2007 we opened a showroom in St. George, Utah to showcase Mike’s beautiful copperwork and my glass designs. It was the place to gather with designers and builders to finalize the details of our work without having to dust off a workbench or haul pieces from the shop to the living room for display. Building started slowing down locally just about the time we got settled in to the showroom . . . we heard about an online community called Etsy where handmade was the keyword. We knew it would be a perfect fit for us so, in 2009, we set out to create our shop: Copperandglass. It was the perfect time to grow our business from the local builders to a wider population.

Mike and I work together at growing our presence on Etsy; we both take photos, I do the writing and listing, and he keeps an eye on the stats. It has been a very satisfying and fulfilling endeavor.

We both love working with our hands, and have been do-it-yourself enthusiasts our whole lives. We appreciate the time and effort that goes into handmade creations. We love organic materials, and copper and glass are two of the most unique medium we have run across. They combine very well and stand beautifully on their own. Light and texture play a big part in the effect each has on the senses.

We have both worked in the service and construction industries most of our lives and wanted to follow a long time dream we share of using our creative abilities to work from home and sustain our family. Copperandglass is an extension of the joy we have experienced; homeschooling our kids, teaching them their Dad’s craft, heading to work in our shop just 20 feet out the back door each morning, and spending our time together enjoying each other’s company, gifts, and talents.
