About

First I watch the nature, then I feel it, and eventually I let copper tell my story...

I chose the name Genio Italiano because my work sprang from a peculiar feature of Italian people, which makes us able to renovated and reinvented ourselves in order to find new ways to gain happiness and a full life.
I am a self-taught worker, and I usually say that copper is my team-mate.
All my products are made only with copper sheets, copper pipes and copper wires and they are completely hand-crafted.

Copper is a metal with a strong character. For example, the more jobs and more becomes hard. You cannot bend it to your will, that is, you always have to ask him first what he thinks.
Of course, in this work I have many other partners apart from copper: sun, water, wind, salt, chemical and so on. Everyone needs to be taken into due consideration. It is not just a matter of chemistry: changing the shape and the color of copper is a little 'how to confide something intimate to a trusted friend but very, very severe, that will not allow you to cheat, but staring at you will tell you to go to the point, without mincing words.
What I mean is that if either the idea isn't precisely developed or the project hasn't been studied in every detail, the copper won't follow you.
If your hand isn't enough strong or secure, the curvature will be too bland, or exaggerated. If you didn't observed enough patiently in nature the flower you want to make with copper, the petal instead of appearing moved by the breeze will seem a crumpled sock.

In the end, an handworked and waterproof made copper item is a faithful companion, resistant to time and weather. It 's a gift that retains its value over time, a sign of constancy of thought, feeling and will.

I chose this name because it is generally thought that Italian people have the peculiar ability to raise from their ashes and reinvent themselves so that nothing can really push the down. When i discovered this new skill it was, for me, a kind of a reborn, a new way to bring to light my true identity. And I love nature. I am curious, and amazed when i look at a flower...what a miracle they are! Just think what a wonderful gift is being able to recreate a bit of nature by your hand! I'm grateful for this skill I was given. Moreover, copper is a peculiar metal. The more you work with it, the more it becomes hard. For this reason you have to study your project in depth before starting...no mistakes are allowed! Technics, study, stubborness, patience, fantasy. These are my words.
