5 out of 5 starsThe order arrived fast, thank you. The yarn feels luxurious and I can't wait to knit something, then I'll be back for more. I've knitted before with big brand alpaca, then I discovered that in some countries, the animal husbandry can be very poor, so I'm delighted to find UK/EU sources, where I can be more confident that the animals have not suffered for their fleece.

James shearing our alpacas
Alpaca fibre was known by the Inca's as the fibre of the gods, their fleeces are soft and beautiful and irresistible and so is our yarn
We live with our herd of alpacas, 41 at the moment, we are passionate about developing our breeding programme to improve our alpaca fibre and to produce the best quality products we possibly can. We also have 10 chickens, 4 angora rabbits and 2 dogs, our farm is in the beautiful Cotswolds with its rolling hills, rivers and woodlands.
At the moment we are building a green sustainable workshop space, our ambition is to live in the most 'green' way we possibly can, we are off grid which can be challenging!
My inspiration comes from the place we call home along with our desire to live gently on the planet, this why all the dyes I use are natural dyes and all my dyeing I do by hand. I love to spin creating art yarns, I spin as much as I can, the rest goes to a lovely traditional artisan mill in Wales, or a specialist alpaca mill.
We support sustainable fashion, eco living and sustainable farming.
If you love alpacas follow us on Facebook and Instagram @ Cotswold alpacas.
I will update and change this page as our lives here on the farm develop and change.
In the meantime enjoy Etsy and happy shopping
