In my shop you will find meaningful minimalist apparel-- goodies for wee little ones as well as my new women's line! Designed and stitched by me, in small town Manitoba.

I have a passion for creating.
The Cotton Cupcake Shoppe started in March 2009. Our third daughter was 4 months old at the time and one day I looked at the oh-so-sweet floral onesie she was wearing and tilted my head to get a closer look. It needed some decoration! I neatly embroidered her nickname, maddy, onto the front of it and that, my friends, was the starting point.
In the summer of 2019, after The Cotton Cupcake Shoppe had been going strong for 10 years, I felt a shift happening. I have often been asked about women's clothing, and ideas were brewing! I decided to change my branding to This One Life and launch a website as well as change my Etsy shop name.
Creating has always felt like therapy for me. I am thrilled to be able to offer meaningful apparel, designed with purpose and created in small batches! I hope you enjoy your items as much as we enjoy making them!! Thank you for shopping small!
