Hi, I am JoJo, a stay at home mom to 4 cats & 2 dogs , a fabric-holic, and the designer / founder behind Cotton Purr.

It all began with a sewing machine from my mother-in-law! At the time, I was trying to adapt to my new life here in Georgia after flying half way around the world from Taiwan to be with the love of my life. When I received her beloved sewing machine after showing the interests in trying it out, I was soon hooked! I have been sewing ever since, and I have to admit that I am more than just enjoying sewing, I am addicted to it! LOL

After completing an intense sewing & machine quilting training program abroad (hosted by Brother Japan), plus several years of practicing and creating, Cotton Purr was launched in late January 2008. As of now, all items are made in my studio - a space in our basement with a window view of the street & a tree, which is smoke free but pet friendly. Between my sewing studio and the TV room, there is a french door to keep the pets out and still allows hubby and me to look at each other.

Late 2008, my hubby offered to take over the product photography, so I don't have to stay up late to process photos. I swear, this is the second most soul touching thing he ever said to me (nothing tops the power of "Marry me!" ^0^ ). Since then I can proudly make this statement:

" Cotton Purr, where everything is created, designed, sewn and loved by me - JoJo, and photographed and cherished by my beloved and supportive husband. "

You can imagine how much LOVE goes in this household, and all Cotton Purr items are handmade with great care & warmth by a smiling woman to deliver just that!!

I prefer to work with natural fibers, such as cotton, linen, hemp and bamboo. I just adore the texture and softness of natural fibers, and how they are the product of mother nature, so they are more eco-friendly than plastic and leather :P

Cotton Purr is where I combine my fabric obsession and bag addiction together to bring you something beautiful and versatile.

To me, handmade goods should represent great quality & attention to detail. And, let's not forget the most important signature of handmade -- uniqueness, as every Cotton Purr item reflects personal thoughts & liking at the time I pair the design and the fabric together. I tend not to use fabrics from the same collection, as browsing fabrics and pairing them are part of the fun & charm!
