About

About Cotton Ridge Designs, LLC

When I was young, my dream job was to be the owner of a shop that sold all sorts of products related to my interests and hobbies. Years later in 1999 I discovered the world wide web and started Cotton Ridge Designs, an internet company selling dollhouse miniatures. Over time it grew into a Limited Liability Company (LLC) with five divisions.

Cotton Ridge Designs, LLC is now Cotton Ridge Miniatures (1999), Cotton Ridge Pottery (2007), Cotton Ridge Create! (2011), Cotton Ridge Books (2011) and Cotton Ridge Homeschool (2012).

Growing up as an Air Force kid I lived mostly in Southern California and northern Virginia. I now live in a rather quiet suburban neighborhood just outside of the city of Huntsville, Alabama with my husband and daughter. After earning a B.B.A. in Accounting from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, I worked professionally as an auditor, controller and an analyst for 10 years in the Washington, DC area and in Huntsville, Alabama.

My desire is to allow Christ to live His life through me to bless others and bring glory to God in all aspects of my life, including through my company. “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.” (Colossians 3:23)

Cotton Ridge Pottery offers kiln-fired stoneware clay jewelry, wheel-thrown pottery and hand-built pieces for customers who enjoy unique, handcrafted pieces. After appreciating wheel-thrown pottery for many years, I had the opportunity to take lessons in clay myself. The feel of the clay immediately captured my imagination, and I was hooked!

I enjoy continuing this traditional art form through Cotton Ridge Pottery, while adding my own ideas and imagination.

A tutorial is available on the Cotton Ridge Create! site on how to make kiln-fired pendants and buttons.
