5 out of 5 starsGreat item! Purchased as a gift, and the recipient loved it. Had a tiny hiccup with shipping (fabric may have been out of stock?) but Cindi was on it, and super-prompt with communication and updates. Fast shipping. Thanks!

5 out of 5 starsThe pet portrait handbag I ordered for a friend is truly amazing. It's gorgeous even if you don't know the little dog. My friend keeps saying over and over that Cindi captured the essence of her special baby. And the bag itself is wonderful--great size and very attractive worn over the shoulder. I can't speak highly enough about Cindi's artistry and the joy it was to work with her.

About cottontailquilts
-
Your story will begin with a special photo.
-
From the photo, I cut the pieces to use for the applique.
-
I use an applique technique called Needle Turn, where a tiny needle turns under the raw edges prior to stitching.
-
The finished applique block can be transformed into a lovely cushion, a generous shoulder bag....
-
...or... a magnificent photo album quilt with multiple applique photo blocks of the things you hold dear. Let's begin...
I am so very lucky to be able to do what I love..EVERY day!
I opened my shop after a very long illness left me house bound for 10 years. Etsy gave me the incredible opportunity to be out in the world again through the wonders of cyberspace. I again became a vital, creative woman.
I revisited the traditional quilting my grandmother had taught me and through quilting friends I'd met here, learned to master artistic quilting done by machine.
So... with the old and the new...working side by side...I now create heirloom 'stories in fabric' to be passed down through the generations as cherished family heirlooms.

Cindi
Owner, Designer, Applique Fiber Artist, Quilter
Under the carful tutelage of my grandmother, I received my first quilting hoop when I was 10. She taught me the discipline of hand quilting and the art of hand applique. Over the years, I have refined my art and have found my niche with applique.
Shop policies
The pieced elements of my quilts are done by machine for durability. The quilting is done by hand. I use premium quilters cotton fabrics, threads and battings.
My goal is to make quilts that will be passed down through the generations as cherrished family heirlooms.
All items are made and stored in my smoke free, pet free studio. I do have two little bunnies... my creative muses...but they never visit the studio.
All quilts comply with CPSIA guidelines for children's bedding unless otherwise noted.
