When a Dog Comes Up With a Business Plan

I remember being a kid and rubbing my grandmother's knitting needles together with some yarn in between them and I really thought I was getting somewhere. All I managed to do was make a big mess. Later on, I needed a hobby. I'm not exactly sure what drove me to knitting, but within a few weeks, I was hooked.

While I had every intention of making and selling scarves for people, my dog Lincoln had other ideas. For whatever reason, when I finished up a scarf, Lincoln got all excited. As a joke, I put it on him. He loved it! To prove this to my family, I just had to take pictures. Normally, Lincoln was very camera shy, but with a scarf on, he became something different. Since I love my big dogs and want to dress them up, I know how hard it is to find cute clothes for them. I intend to change that. Big dogs enjoy it just as much as small dog, or at least mine do.

So now, Lincoln waits patiently while I finish up a scarf, usually curled up on my lap (yes, my 75 pound dog loves to lay on top of me like he's 5 pounds!) He knows when it's his time to shine and does a wonderful job.

I give all the credit for the start up of my shop to Lincoln. He's the mastermind behind all of this. If he doesn't like to wear something, I don't make it again. It's all about what he enjoys wearing and what he looks forward to putting on. We can't go out of the house anymore without him wanting to wear something or other.
