. Telkari, (filigree) is a delicate kind of jewelry, made usually of silver, using tiny beads or twisted threads, soldered together in artistic motifs. It was founded in Southeastern Turkey, in Midyat province of Mardin city around 3000 BC. The pieces in my shop come from best artisans who follow the footsteps of the ancient jewelers of Mesopotamia.
. Oya Needle Lace is of the most beautiful and ancient lace forms in existence. Each piece is hand sewed as a unique model with cotton or silk thread and only a small sewing needle.
. Cini Ceramic is a 1000 year old world famous creative Anatolian craft. Each jewelry piece is hand painted uniquely.

My name is Oya Yasayan and CraftAnatolia is my personal entrepreneurhip based in Vancouver, Beautiful British Columbia, Canada. I am a Canadian woman coming from Turkey, the country on the Anatolian peninsula. That’s where the name Craft Anatolia comes from.
Unfortunately in Anatolia, some handcrafts are dying -especially carpet and jewelry artizanship- which are mainly lead by Turkish craftswomen
It is heartbreaking, since those women try to contribute to their households and gain economic independence in their environment where they face gender inequality in employment and education.
I only work with jewelry craftswomen from Turkey, to enhance their feeling of empowerment and to contribute them running their businesses as much as I can. I try my best to support sustainable community development by ensuring that the woman artisans making Craft Anatolia products are paid fairly.

Cini is a 1000 year old art. It is a special glazed ceramic, an impervious layer or coating of a vitreous substance covers ceramic body through firing. The artist must work slowly and calmly, taking sometimes a week to paint a piece that might be destroyed in a single second through some fluke.

Oya Needle Lace Women Artizans
Izmir, Turkey
Each piece of Oya is handsewed as a unique model by Anatolian craftswomen with cotton thread and only a small sewing needle. It is made by taking the needle and thread and forming loops which are tightened into knots. The tightness of the knots creates small square and triangular stitches.

Kazaz is one of the hardest handmade jewelry technique. All of Kazaz jewelry are hand-made by woman artizans in Turkey with 1000 carat silver. A strand of pure silver so thin as one strand of human hair is wrapped over a very thin silk thread with the help of a spinning wheel.

How to store pure silver Kazaz Art jewelry?
When you are not wearing your pure silver jewelry, store it away from moisture in a sealed container such as an air tight bag. Ensure the jewellery is dry before storage. This will prevent tarnishing over a long period of time.
How to care for bronze mounted cini ceramic jewelry?
Cleaning bronze is pretty straightforward. First, use a jewelry polishing cloth to wipe your bronze jewelry. Then apply some mild soap to the piece, and rub it to take out any dirt that has accumulated. After the item is cleaned, rinse it with water, and dry it using a towel.

What metals are used during production?
All Kazaz Art jewelry pieces are woven with 1000 carat (100% pure) silver. Kazaz is a 5000 years old handmade jewellery technique from the Caucasus and still living in the northern Anatolian city Trabzon. It is a weaving technique that uses 0.08 millimeter (approximately the thickness of a hair) 100% pure silver wire (1000 carat) wrapped around silk threads with the help of a spinning wheel (no power tools are used). This silver wire becomes very strong and flexible so that it can be woven without breaking.
The matte finish of the Kazaz wire gives Kazaziye's remarkable pieces a timeless, vintage look. In Trabzon we work with several women‘s workshops in order to guarantee the best quality.
Closures and hooks are 975 carat silver.
Is the delivery safe and secure?
All items are sent by Canada Post and free for the buyers anywhere in Canada!
All items are tracked and tracking numbers are provided. An email will be sent to notify you that the item has been sent.
All items ordered at CraftAnatoliaCom Etsy Shop will be placed in our signature packaging (a pretty gift box with ribbon). The box will be further placed in a protective envelope ready to be safely and securely delivered. Your items come to you with no mention of “jewelry”, in order to maximize the privacy and security.
Will the item you order look exactly like in the picture?
In most instances, the item will look very similar to the pictured image. However, all items are handcrafted, handpainted, not machine-made. Therefore, there may be variations in color and detail. Even so, we make every effort to make sure that the product shown is as similar as the one you will receive as possible. Again, if you are not satisfied, simply return it and we can exchange it for another item, or issue a refund.
