About

Otaku parent selling crafts

As a homeschooling parent/stepparent of 4, I needed a way to keep my sanity while not spending a lot of money. Fortunately I found crafting! It allows me to have an outlet for my creativity and show my love for all things nerdy. Selling my crafts allows me to buy things like food, video games, and more yarn :)

I make everything by hand myself in the USA (to be more specific, in Griffith Indiana, which is close to the border to Chicago). I don't get any "assistance" from "manufacturers". I package and ship everything myself, I clip coupons to buy materials myself, I respond to emails myself; I do EVERYTHING myself. I hope that someday the kids can help with at least some of that, lol, but I will never send my ideas to a sweatshop overseas and call it handmade. I want stuff made with love and care, something that is going to last; not something mass produced that will fall apart just as quickly as it was made. I assume you want the same.

My house is smoke free and perfume free. I do have two dogs and lots of wool yarn in my house. If you have allergies to dogs or sheep, give me a heads up and I can take extra care with your item.

If you are a crafter, I sell yarn, patterns, safety eyes etc. over at yarncast.etsy.com

Amigurumi (and anything that is stuffed) is surface washable only. Wool items such as hats and mittens must be handwashed in cool water and laid flat to dry. Acrylic hats can generally be machine washed, but check individual listings.
